NTT DoCoMo Demos 250Mbps Downlink With LTE Test Network

NTT DoCoMo, a Japanese carrier, has recently conducted successful tests of its Super 3G LTE network technology that showed downlink speeds of up to 250Mbps. The test environment was setup near labs just south of Tokyo.
LTE, or Long Term Evolution, is the next step beyond the current HSDPA and HSUPA networks and offers increased transmission speeds with reduced latency. NTT DoCoMo joins Verizon Wireless and Vodafone in testing and planning the launch of this new technology.
