MixDJ application turns your phone in to a superDJ!

Poor old amateur DJs. If it wasn't bad enough being kicked off the decks of house parties by the popularity of iPod playlists, now they're even being usurped by mobile phones. That's the idea behind MixDJ, a new application developed by NXP Software.

The app lets you create gapless mixes of the songs stored on your phone, using proper beat-matching and crossfading to do it. And thankfully, without any shouts of 'YO YO YO, DJ DOUGAL IN THE HOUSE, MAKE SOME NOISE!' as it does so. NXP also says you'll be able to save your created mixes, and intriguingly, share them with friends.

You can't download MixDJ now, mind. NXP signs deals to embed its applications in handsets - for example, its LifeVibes MusicPlayer app is in Samsung's new SGH-F250 phone. So watch out for MixDJ potentially appearing in music phones later this year.
